Spring 2026 Preparing Future Faculty Program

Apply now through November 21, 2025!

Date sent: October 20, 2025

The UF Graduate School, Office of Postdoctoral Affairs and the Center for Teaching Excellence invite you to apply for the Spring 2026 Preparing Future Faculty (PFF) Program. This upcoming semester’s program will meet online via Zoom from 9:35 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursdays starting January 15 and ending April 16.

The PFF program helps prepare graduate students and postdocs for academic careers in a variety of settings by introducing participants to evidence-based teaching strategies and key features of successful faculty life at different kinds of institutions. Meetings are facilitated via a flipped workshop structure and successful completion of this program requires attending and engaging in weekly meetings, adhering to assignment deadlines, and satisfying a mentoring component. Completion of the PFF program will extend availability for additional certifications through the Center for Teaching Excellence’s Passport to Great Teaching certificate program.

This program is open to graduate students and postdocs in any UF department. Participants will be chosen on a competitive basis.

For the first time, selected graduate students are eligible to take the PFF course for credit. If selected for PFF and interested in taking the course for credit, students will be given instructions on how to register. (Note that graduate students may still participate in the course if they opt out of the credit-bearing option.)
