AWM Faculty Talk - Research Opportunities and Jobs in Economics

We’re excited to invite everyone to AWM’s third faculty talk of the semester. On Wednesday, April 1st at 4:00 P.M. in Little Hall 225, Dr. Phillips from the Department of Economics will give a talk titled "Research Opportunities and Jobs in Economics" — the abstract and flyer are attached below. Everyone is welcome, and we hope to see you there!

Abstract: In this talk, I will discuss the two general areas in which economists do research. I will explain how to gain experience in these areas as an undergraduate student. I will then discuss areas and jobs that both our undergraduate and graduate students have obtained in the past. I will also talk a little bit about my experience working as an Economist at the World Bank.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could notify your students about this great opportunity. If anyone would like to know more about the club, feel free to look at our website at https://awm.math.ufl.edu, contact our AWM Vice President, Jada Sitchler (sitchlerj@ufl.edu), or our faculty sponsors, Dr. Gamage (cgamage@ufl.edu) and Professor Demas (demasc@ufl.edu).

Best,
