Spring Course Applications
Are Open
In the spring of 2026, our
team will be offering both our Graduate Student Mentor Training Course and our
Undergraduate Research Training Course.
- The Graduate Student Mentor
Training Course is for students serving as mentors to undergraduate
researchers. The aim of this course is to equip students with the
knowledge and technical skills they need to communicate effectively with
undergraduates. Students must be willing and able to attend the
synchronous course sessions. Applications close on January 28, 2026.
- The Undergraduate Research
Training Course is intended for new researchers, or students with
limited experience who are interested in building their foundational
understanding of research. To participate, students must be working in
groups of 2-4 on the same research project with the same
research mentor. Students must also be able to attend the same course
section. Applications close on February 5, 2026.
REU Applications for the
Summer 2026 Are Open
UR2PhD strives not only to
prepare students for participating in research, but to encourage them to
continue to explore research opportunities. As such, our team has earmarked
funds for summer research experiences.
Students who have
successfully completed the Research Training Course or the Pre-Research
Experience Course and who have identified a research project/mentor for
the summer are eligible to apply. Students who will take the spring iteration
of the course will also be considered, but all approved funding is contingent
upon successful course completion.
Students selected for
funding will be able to earn $8,000 for a 400-hour experience. Students will be
expected to submit four milestones to receive funding.
Applications are currently
open and will be accepted through February 28, 2025
