AWM Faculty Talk - Research Opportunities and Jobs in Economics

We’re excited to invite everyone to AWM’s third faculty talk  of the semester. On Wednesday, April 1st at 4:00 P.M.  in Little Hall 225 , Dr. Phillips  from the Department of Economics will give a talk titled "Research Opportunities and Jobs in Economics"  — the abstract and flyer are attached below. Everyone is welcome, and we hope to see you there!    Abstract : In this talk, I will discuss the two general areas in which economists do research. I will explain how to gain experience in these areas as an undergraduate student. I will then discuss areas and jobs that both our undergraduate and graduate students have obtained in the past. I will also talk a little bit about my experience working as an Economist at the World Bank.   I would greatly appreciate it if you could notify your students about this great opportunity. SHPE Engineering Research Symposium Graduate Support

Engineering Research Symposium – April 1 | Reitz Union Rion Ballroom The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) is hosting its Engineering Research Symposium on April 1st in the Rion Ballroom. This campus-wide event gives students the opportunity to present their research, attend professional workshops, and connect with fellow students and faculty across engineering disciplines. The symposium will feature: • Two poster sessions • Four professional development workshops • Free lunch • Cash prizes for the top three presenters ( 1st place: $300 ) Students from all backgrounds are encouraged to showcase their work or attend to learn more about research projects on campus. Although the original abstract submission deadline has passed, we are currently seeking additional graduate student presenters due to a lower-than-expected number of submissions.  Participation from graduate students is especially valuable in highlighting the depth of research across UF.
