Update! 2026 Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Summer Workshop Joint Info Session & Skills Workshop Thursday • July 16, 2026 • 2:00 p.m. • Online via Zoom Date distributed: June 29, 2026 Distributed to: Doctoral Students, Graduate Coordinators, Chairs and Staff Dear doctoral students and campus colleagues, Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is a research communication competition that celebrates the exciting research conducted by doctoral students while also cultivating students’ academic, presentation and research communication skills. 3MT supports their capacity to effectively explain their research in three minutes using a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. UF’s top three finalists are awarded a trophy and monetary prize, and the first-place winner moves on to the regional 3MT competition. Tune in to our Zoom info session and workshop at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026 to learn about the competition’s structure, rules and judgment criteria, as well as dates, preparation tips and best practices for constructing a successful 3MT presentation.
