New CS program: UF in Brazil

UF in Brazil is an eight-week faculty-led program in Salvador, Bahia, combining immersive technologies, human-centered design, and cross-cultural learning. Hosted in collaboration with SENAI CIMATEC, students will take courses in culturally aware design and virtual reality for social good while working on hands-on projects that connect technology with social, cultural, and sustainability challenges. Learning extends beyond the classroom through industry and research visits, collaboration with Brazilian faculty and students, and cultural experiences throughout Salvador and Praia do Forte—including historic sites, Afro-Brazilian music and dance, capoeira, conservation activities, and coastal experiences. The program offers students an opportunity to develop technical and professional skills while experiencing how culture shapes the way technologies are designed, understood, and used.
