Discover Your Research Partners at UF Libraries
UF George A. Smathers Libraries provides far more than
course reserves, books, and study spaces. Whether youre just getting
started or well into your research, UF Libraries can be a valuable
partner.
Research
Help
Librarians and subject
specialists help students explore topics, find and evaluate
sources, and cite them correctly. For quick questions, try Ask
a Librarian.
Data
expertise
UF’s Academic
Research Consulting & Services (ARCS) team supports data
management/science, statistics, AI, machine learning, natural language
processing, GIS, and more.
Materials UF
doesn’t own
Interlibrary
Loan offers UF students access to books, media,
articles and other materials from libraries elsewhere for free.
Students can also request PDFs, book chapters, and scanned copies of
UF-owned materials.
Publishing
guidance
The Libraries
advise on open-access, copyright, fair use, and authors' rights. For
graduate students preparing to publish, ask before you do.
Wellness and
creativity
Take a research
break at Library West’s mindfulness studio, or the Education
Library’s relaxation rooms. Use Health Science Center Library’s nap
pods and treadmill desks. Meanwhile, Marston Library’s makerspace
provides sewing and embroidery machines, electronics, power and hand
tools, and more.
Specialized
libraries
The Smathers
Libraries system comprises the Education Library, Marston
Science Library, Library West, Smathers Library, the Map and Imagery
Library, the Architecture and Fine Arts Library, the Health Science
Center Library, the Latin American and Caribbean Collection, Special
and Area Studies Collections and more. Your major may determine which
library is most useful to you.
Workshops and
events
Learn about citation
management, databases, copyright and fair use, and other academic and
research skills or enjoy cultural events and exhibits: UF Libraries Workshops and Events.
The library is a research partner, not just a building.
