Greetings from
Grinter!
Defining
Success on Your Graduate Journey
As graduate
students, each of you brings a unique set of goals, experiences, and
aspirations to the University of Florida. That is why success in
graduate school cannot be defined by a single path or destination. Your
journey is your own, and only you can define what success means to you.
At the UF Graduate School, we want every Grad
Gator to thrive academically, professionally, and personally by finding
community, building resilience, seeking support when needed, and
leveraging opportunities to help you reach your goals.
We know we're
competing for your attention in an inbox overflowing with Canvas
notifications, research updates, event invitations, and about 47 other
emails all marked “Important.” Even so, we feel it's important to bring
together resources, services, workshops, and events that empower
you — both at UF and long afterwards.
As you explore each
issue of "Thrive!", I encourage you to reflect on what
success looks like for you and to take advantage of the resources
available to help get you there. While your graduate journey is
uniquely yours, you don't have to navigate it alone. We are committed
to helping you find your way and thrive.
Here's to thriving
as a Gator!

Judy Traveis, PhD
Associate Dean for Graduate Student Success
