Data Science Scholarship

I graduated from UF in 2019. Now I'm working for Redpanda Data and am responsible for our scholarship program. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you might be able to share the details of our Hack the Planet Scholarship with applicants who would be a good fit!

The goal of this program, now in its third year, is to support underrepresented groups in technology who want to hack on a distributed systems-related project over a four-month period.

The scholarship recipient receives $1,500/month, weekly 1-1 mentorship from our most senior staff engineers (some of whom have worked on the largest systems in the world), a monthly 1-1 with our CEO, as well as code review and design review to hack on any project of their choosing – preferably open source. The scholarship recipient has no obligations to our company. Our goal is simply to make data science more accessible to everyone.

I am hopeful that by reaching out to you we'll be able to connect with even more potential recipients. We're dedicated to making the tech space and data science more accessible, and Hack the Planet Scholarship is a way to support underrepresented people financially and more importantly through mentorship.
