MS Thesis Opportunity in Sarder Lab

Dr Sarder has a thesis project available for an MS student.

The project will be to develop a machine learning model for the following Kaggle challenge: HuBMAP - Hacking the Kidney | Kaggle.

Although the competition is now closed, Dr. Sarder’s team has a leaderboard available so that the student can compare the algorithms and pipelines they build with the toppers of the Kaggle competition.

Under the direction of Dr. Sarder, the Computational Microscopy Imaging Lab has developed a pipeline for this challenge; students can choose to build on top of it or build from scratch. Dr. Sarder (Associate Professor) and Dr. Anindya Paul (Research Scientist with the CMI Lab) will act as technical mentors, code reviewers, and assist with data analysis.

In addition to a successful thesis, a secondary project outcome will be a short conference paper.

Interested students should send their CV and a copy of their transcripts to the lab project manager, Jessica Kirwan at jessica.kirwan@medicine.ufl.edu

Dr. Sarder is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine with a joint appointment in Electrical & Computer Engineering.
