Seeking Computer Science Students for NLP Research Project

Hello everyone,

I am Nasim Binesh, an Assistant Professor in the College of Health and Human Performance at the University of Florida. I'm excited to announce a unique opportunity for computer science students interested in natural language processing and sentiment analysis.

Thanks to a recently awarded UF research seed grant, my team and I are embarking on a cutting-edge project that involves utilizing NLP models, specifically BERT, for sentiment analysis. The project will include the development and use of a web scraper to extract relevant data from various social media platforms.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and skilled computer science students who are eager to contribute to this project. This is a temporary position, expected to last approximately 5 to 6 months, offering a great chance to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic research environment.

Ideal candidates should have:

  • A strong interest in NLP and sentiment analysis.
  • Some experience or familiarity with web scraping techniques.
  • A willingness to collaborate effectively within a research team.

This opportunity is perfect for students looking to enhance their skills and engage in meaningful research. If you or someone you know fits this description and is interested in collaborating on an innovative research project, I would love to hear from you.

Please feel free to share my contact information with potential candidates or reach out to me directly to discuss this opportunity further. bineshf@ufl.edu

Thank you in advance for your interest and support!

Best regards,

Nasim Binesh
