Register by March 26th – HPCC Data Lake Management System Workshop – April 2-5th MH7028 “The Four Corners of ECL”

“The Four Corners of ECL” – Foundations of ECL

Come and join us for a 4-day workshop where you will have the opportunity to learn big data programming skills using HPCC Systems and its native programming language ECL (Enterprise Control Language). Born from the deep data analysis experience of LexisNexis Risk Solutions, HPCC Systems is an open source cloud-native platform that makes combining data stored in massive, mixed schema data lakes easier and faster. You can learn more about HPCC Systems and our community at https://hpccsystems.com

The four corners of ECL will be presented according to the following schedule (all times ET):

  • April 2 from 2 pm to 5 pm: Syntax and Queries
  • April 3 from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm: ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load)
  • April 4 from 2 pm to 5 pm: Data Delivery
  • April 5 from 12 pm to 3 pm: Analytics (featuring Machine Learning)

Location: Conference room 7028 Malachowsky Hall

During the workshop, a cluster environment will be made available for the participants and code examples will be shared via a GitHub repository.

Important: Seats are limited to a maximum of 20, so interested students should register by March 26, 2024, at 3 pm ET via this form. Registered students must plan to attend all four days of the workshop.

To hit the ground running, please come to the workshop with one of the following IDEs already installed on your PC (we will configure and connect to the cluster in class together):

  1. If you are using Windows, please install the ECL IDE: Download ECL IDE - Windows

  1. If you are using MacOS or Linux, then VSCode is the best option: Download Visual Studio Code - Mac, Linux
