Call for Participation: Pilot Study on Plant Root Image Labeling

Greetings!

We are a diverse team of faculty and student researchers from multiple STEM departments, working together on an interdisciplinary research project. We are currently seeking participants to contribute to our in-person pilot study between December 10 and 13 and help advance research in machine learning and plant sciences.

Participants will label plant root images within an annotation software and complete pre- and post-task surveys. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the quality and quantity of labeled root images using different annotation tools across various levels of user expertise.

Eligibility

  • Age: 18 or older
  • Experience: No prior experience with image annotation, machine learning, or plant sciences is required.

Time commitment - 1.5 hours
