Spring 2025 New UF Graduate Student Orientation


Welcome, UF’s newest graduate students! 

Congratulations! We’re thrilled that you’re joining the University of Florida’s graduate student body this spring. Start your graduate education journey here on the right foot with GradStart, the UF Graduate School’s online orientation program! 

GradStart is geared to help you navigate your first semester and beyond. You’ll gain knowledge and skills for success at UF through engaging modules. 

What to expect: 

  • A warm welcome to UF: Explore our academic environment and learn about available resources. 
  • Clear expectations: Understand the academic standards and requirements for graduate students. 
  • A wealth of support: Discover our Graduate Student Success Center’s workshops and programs tailored to your needs. 

Your success is important to us — and that’s why we’ve created GradStart you in mind.  

GradStart will go live tomorrow,Tuesday, December 3, 2024.  You will be automatically added to GradStart. You can access it by logging in with your Gatorlink credentials to UF’s Canvas page by clicking here:elearning.ufl.edu

GradStart orients you to UF through two tracks: 

  • Self-paced learning: Dive into our on-demand Canvas modules at your own pace, accessing valuable information and resources throughout your first semester. 
  • Live community: Join us on January 8, 2025 for live Zoom sessions, including the official Graduate School Welcome and Keynote Speaker.  

For the complete schedule, click here. Links to each Zoom webinar will be posted in the Begin Here module of GradStart. Join the sessions by logging in with your Gatorlink credentials atufl.zoom.us. Each webinar will have live speakers, plus the opportunity for engagement through chat and Q&A exchanges. 

F-1 International Students: Please attend the mandatory F-1 International Student Orientation which take place on January 8, 2025. 

All Students: Other events are recommended but optional. They complement your degree program’s or college’s welcome activities. 

Missed a session? Don’t worry! We’ll post recordings of most Zoom sessions in GradStart.
